Let’s Start With the Facts
Structurally speaking, both acetone and Ezmio One Step Gel Remover work by breaking bonds in gel polymers to remove gel polish.
Traditional acetone removal involves soaking a cotton pad, wrapping it around your nail, and securing it with foil for up to 20 minutes — meaning prolonged skin contact.
Ezmio One Step Gel Remover works differently. It is applied directly on top of your buffed Ezmio gel and pushed away after 5 minutes. No wrapping. No soaking. No prolonged skin contact.
Is One Step Gel Remover Paint Stripper?
This is one of our most common questions.
Structurally, both acetone and our remover break down polymers. Polymers are found in many industries — including nail products and paint.
Ironically, acetone has long been used as a paint thinner and remover. A quick Google search will confirm that.
Could Ezmio One Step Gel Remover remove paint? Possibly. Would it be an effective paint remover? No.
Our formula is nowhere near as harsh as traditional paint strippers. The active ingredient is Sodium Hydroxide, which is commonly used in a wide range of skincare, cosmetic, and cleaning products.
Will It Damage My Nail Bed or Skin?
No.
One Step Gel Remover is only applied to the surface of your buffed Ezmio gel polish and pushed away using our Scraper Tool.
There is no required contact with your nail bed or surrounding skin during proper use.
Important: Be extremely gentle when pushing the gel away. Scraping too harshly or tugging at stubborn gel is what causes nail damage — not the remover itself.
If any sections are stubborn, simply reapply the remover and allow it to work again.
Is It the Same as Other “Magic” Gel Removers?
No.
Ezmio One Step Gel Remover is specifically formulated to safely remove our One Step Gel Colour range. It is Australian Approved and all ingredients are registered with AICIS.
Other removers may contain different ingredients. If you're unsure, you can check ingredients through the AICIS Industry Chemicals Inventory to confirm they are approved in Australia.
