Application

1. For the perfect nail prep, please ensure you have read and followed our detailed ‘How To’ guide under ‘Nail Preparation’ HERE.

2. Begin by applying one coat of our 2in1 Base Coat and Extension Gel Adhesive. Be
sure to cap the free edge for a complete seal, then cure for 60 seconds under
our Nail Lamp.

OPTION ONE - Builder Gel Structure Application

3. Apply a thin, even layer of Coloured Builder Gel — this is your slip layer (do not cure this layer)

4. Pick up a small bead of Coloured Builder Gel and float it over the nail to build structure, focusing on creating a smooth apex.

5. Use a thin liner brush in our Nail Art Brush Set to gently guide the gel toward the side walls and cuticle line for even coverage.

6. Turn your hand upside down for a few seconds to help the gel self-level and create the perfect shape.

7. Flash cure the nail for 10 seconds under the Ezmio Nail Lamp or Flash Cure Lamp to prevent the gel from moving.

8. Complete one finger at a time, then cure the entire hand for using the 99s low heat mode setting (this will help avoid heat spikes).

9. Optional – After curing, remove the sticky layer with an Alcohol Prep Pad, then refine the shape of your nails using our Essential Buffer and Essential File.

10. Apply a coat of our No Wipe Top Coat, making sure to cap the free edge. Cure for 60 seconds under our Nail Lamp.

11. Finish by applying Cuticle Oil and gently massaging it into your skin for a salon-quality result.

OPTION TWO - Quick Application

3. Apply 2 thin coats of Coloured Builder Gel, curing using the 99s low heat mode setting (this will help avoid heat spikes).

4. Apply a coat of our No Wipe Top Coat, making sure to cap the free edge. Cure for 60 seconds under our Nail Lamp.

5. Finish by applying Cuticle Oil and gently massaging it into your skin for a salon-quality result.

Removal

1. Begin by buffing down 80% of your Builder Gel with our Remover File.

2. Apply two coats of Gel Remover to the buffed nails, making sure to avoid contact with the skin. Wait 30 seconds between coats.

3. Let the Gel Remover penetrate for 3-5 minutes.

4. Once the Clear or Coloured Builder Gel starts to flake, use our Pro Scraper Tool to gently remove the gel from your nails. If any remains, repeat the process.

5. Use our Essential Buffer to gently remove any remaining residue from the natural nail.

6. Wash your hands, and you’re ready for your next manicure!

How to Store Gel Polish

To keep your gel polish performing at its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, or open flames. Always make sure the lid is tightly closed after each use to prevent air exposure, thickening, or curing inside the bottle.

Avoid storing near UV/LED lamps (even when turned off), as ambient light can begin to cure the product over time.

For best results, use within 12 months of opening and clean the bottle neck regularly to keep the lid airtight and easy to open.

How to Clean the Neck of Your Gel Bottle

Over time, gel polish can build up around the neck of your bottle — making it harder to open and potentially letting air in, which thickens your polish.

To keep your gel fresh and your bottle easy to use:

Use a lint-free wipe soaked in isopropyl alcohol (or gel cleanser).

Wipe around the bottle neck and inside the cap threads to remove any dried product.

Avoid using acetone, as it can damage the bottle or affect the polish.

Clean the neck after each use if possible — especially before storing it away.

Pro Tip: A clean bottle neck also prevents that dreaded “crusty lid” moment and helps your polish last longer!

Curing Wavelengths

All Ezmio gel products are designed to cure under standard UV/LED lamps at wavelengths between 365–405 nm. Cure time is 60 seconds under our Ezmio Nail Lamp.

What Does “12-Free” or “11-Free” Mean?

At Ezmio, when we say a product is 12-free or 11-free, we’re talking about what we leave out — the harsh, irritating, or controversial ingredients commonly found in traditional nail products.

These are formulas made with your safety, comfort, and nail health in mind.

Formaldehyde - Formaldehyde is primarily used in gel polish as a hardening agent. It is a known carcinogen and can lead to skin irritation, allergic responses, and has been associated with the development of nasal and lung cancers.

Toluene - That familiar, nostalgic yet potent scent emanating from certain nail polishes is attributed to Toluene. This compound plays a crucial role in ensuring the even distribution of color pigments, resulting in a flawless finish upon application. However, Toluene's exposure has been associated with adverse effects on the nervous system, including headaches, nausea, and eye irritation. Most significantly, it has been linked to the risk of birth defects.

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBT) - DBP functions as both a plasticizer and solvent in nail polish formulations, enhancing flexibility and reducing the likelihood of chipping. However, absorption of this chemical through the skin has been associated with reproductive problems, birth defects, and fertility issues.

Camphor - Synthetic camphor is used to achieve a highly glossy appearance, however prolonged exposure may result in symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and headaches.

Formaldehyde Resin - Formaldehyde Resin serves as a nail hardening agent. However, it may provoke skin irritation and pose toxicity risks to the immune system.

Xylene - Xylene is utilized to thin nail polish, preventing it from becoming excessively clumpy. It is commonly found in the production of cement and gasoline. Due to its potent fumes, excessive exposure or skin absorption can potentially harm the renal system, liver, and kidneys.

Parabens - Parabens are used widely in the cosmetic industry as a preservative. Due to the estrogen mimicking effects it has been linked to hormonal abnormalities.

Fragrances - Fragrances are incorporated into polish to impart specific scents. Yet, they typically consist of proprietary blends of various components, which may induce skin irritations like redness, itching, hives, and exacerbate eczema.

Phthalates - Phthalates are employed to impart flexibility to products, allowing them to bend in a desired manner. However, these chemicals have been associated with certain types of cancer.

Ethyl Tosylamide - Ethyl Tosylamide serves as a chemical in nail polish, functioning as both a plasticizer and film-forming agent. Its role is to improve the polish's flexibility and durability, thereby contributing to extended manicure longevity.

Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP) - Triphenyl Phosphate is commonly present in nail polish as both a plasticizer and flame retardant. While it can increase the flexibility of nail polish, concerns regarding its potential side effects have been raised due to health implications.

Hema – Hema is a commonly used ingredient in the nail polish industry and serves to provide adhesion and durability. Prolonged exposure to uncured HEMA products is linked to causing irritation and allergic reactions.
