Nail Care & Troubleshooting

Fix common issues and learn tips for healthy nails.

Nail polish lifting

Lifting of polish can be caused by several factors. Let me break it down for you step by step.

Prep: Are you buffing your nails and thoroughly brushing away all the dust with a Mini Nail Brush? Any remaining dust on the nail bed can compromise the gel polish application. Additionally, are you wiping your nails with our Dehydrator or 100% alcohol to remove any natural oils?

Application: If you've applied our One Step Gel and it’s lifting, you might have naturally oily or bendy nails. To address this, we recommend applying 1-2 coats of our 2in1 Base Coat and Extension Gel Adhesive before your One Step Gel. This creates a strong base to prevent nail bending and, consequently, lifting.

Here are products we recommend:
Clear Builder Gel XL
2in1 Base Coat & Extension Gel Adhesive

If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing lifting, please contact hello@ezmiobeauty.com so we can help identify the issue."

Builder Gel XL: If you are using Builder Gel XL please ensure you are applying very thin coats and not using it as a base coat. Builder Gel XL requires our 2in1 Base Coat and Extension Gel Adhesive underneath for ultimate adhesion.

How long does the peel off base coat make the nail colour last ? Because it is a peel off, does it come off quicker?

Yes, a gel peel-off base coat typically results in a shorter-lasting manicure compared to a traditional gel base coat. While a regular gel manicure can last 2 to 3 weeks, a peel-off base coat is designed for easier removal and usually lasts 5 to 7 days, sometimes up to 10 days depending on the following factors.

Nail Condition: If your nails are naturally oily or prone to peeling, the peel-off base coat may not adhere as well, causing the gel colour to lift or peel sooner.

Daily Activities: Activities that put stress on your nails, like frequent hand washing, using hand sanitisers, or typing, can cause the polish to peel off more quickly.

Application: Applying thin, even layers and sealing the edges can help the manicure last longer, even with a peel-off base coat.

The peel-off base coat is great if you prefer changing your nail color more frequently or want to avoid soaking your nails in acetone for removal. However, if you’re looking for a long-lasting manicure, a traditional gel base coat might be a better choice.
